So its the month to talk about festivities. The previous month we celebrated Diwali with great joy and the current month marked the celebrations of Guru Nanak Jayanti. This month gets us another reason to celebrate and that is Children’s Day. Though its not a festival, we await this day like no other because our children are that special.

Coming back to the theme of the month, the whole month of november is dedicated to the festivals that are celebrated all over India that signify our rich heritage. Children are taught about the cultures and the importance of these festivals to celebrate it the right way. This holds a lot of importance because not all festivities are celebrated fairly keeping in mind the real reason of joy in mind. To reach out to our children and make them aware of the message each festival conveys.

We have an informative session every friday where all the kids gather in the activity room where we pick 4 festivals each week and speak about those followed by a chat session where each kid tells us about their own experience during the festivals they celebrate or know about. This is probably the best way to boost their confidence and self esteem.

So a vibrant colourful chart is put up that’s prominent to the kids and that provides them with the information that is needful. Every time they pass the chart, they look and it and learn something from it. This also increases their grasping ability thus helping them make their memory sharp.  They’re at first, told about the festivals that are majorly celebrated in each state and that are followed by the different religions. No festival is neglected, every festival is spoken about. So by the end of this month, the child is informative and doubtless about festivals that play a prime role in building a rich culture that India is known.
